The infrastructure development in these host cities is intended to support the influx of participants and officials from around the world.

Bahrain's Youth Olympic History

Bahrain established its involvement in the Youth Olympic Games long before the upcoming competition in Senegal. The nation first participated in the inaugural event held in Singapore in 2010. Bahrain previously competed in the Youth Olympics in Singapore 2010, Nanjing 2014, and Buenos Aires 2018. Following that initial appearance, Bahraini athletes continued to represent the kingdom at subsequent iterations of the Games. The country sent delegations to compete in Nanjing in 2014 and again in Buenos Aires in 2018. These past performances provided the foundation for the Bahrain Olympic Committee as it prepared for the 2026 event. Each of these previous editions allowed Bahrain to engage with the international sporting community across multiple disciplines. Participation in the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Games serves as the historical record for the nation’s engagement with the Youth Olympic movement prior to the Dakar 2026 delegation. By maintaining this consistent record of attendance, the Bahrain Olympic Committee continues to prioritize the development of young talent through international exposure and high-level competition.
