Oman Advances Industrial Digital Transformation

The Gulf Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (GOIC4IR) and its associated digital platform officially launched on 6 October 2026. Officials introduced the center during the 57th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in Bahrain. The launch of the GOIC4IR occurred during the 57th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Bahrain. The Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting established this new entity to advance regional technological integration. By providing a dedicated digital platform, the GOIC4IR aims to support industrial modernization across member states. The committee proceedings in Bahrain finalized the operational framework for the initiative, marking a formal step in the regional transition toward advanced manufacturing technologies.

Strategic Alignment With Vision 2040

Oman's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) is currently implementing a series of programs designed to align with the national objectives set out in Oman Vision 2040 and the Industrial Strategy 2040. These initiatives seek to integrate digital practices into the local manufacturing sector to meet long-term economic development targets.

The Gulf Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (GOIC4IR) supports these efforts by offering services tailored to the needs of factories throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The GOIC4IR provides services including digital maturity assessments, transformation roadmaps, and access to specialized assessors and technology providers for GCC factories. These services include digital maturity assessments, the creation of transformation roadmaps, and the facilitation of access to specialized assessors and technology providers. Dr Mohammed bin Abdullah al Breiki, Head of the Industrial Studies and Policies Department at the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), stated: "Our objective is to ensure that Omani factories have a clear pathway towards transformation, beginning with an assessment of their readiness, followed by the development of a roadmap, access to suitable assessors or solution providers, and opportunities to benefit from training programmes and successful experiences."

By connecting local industrial entities with these resources, the GOIC4IR aims to standardize the transition toward advanced manufacturing across the region. Omani industrial firms can use these structured assessments to identify specific technological gaps, while the transformation roadmaps provide a step-by-step guide for adopting new digital tools. These programs remain a core component of the broader efforts to modernize industrial output in line with the strategic goals established by the government. The integration of these digital services is intended to foster a more resilient industrial base, ensuring that individual factories can effectively navigate the complexities of modern technological adoption. Through this structured approach, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) expects to enhance the competitiveness of local manufacturers within the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market. By leveraging the expertise provided by the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), the Sultanate of Oman continues to prioritize the deployment of advanced manufacturing solutions to sustain long-term industrial growth.
