Invenio has been awarded a five-year Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) contract by the National Bureau for Revenue in Bahrain. This agreement tasks the firm with the long-term management and technical oversight of the bureau’s systems. The partnership confirms the ongoing operational relationship between the Manama-based authority and the London-headquartered organization. Staff from both entities will coordinate to maintain the technical infrastructure throughout the duration of the contract. This collaborative effort ensures that the technical systems remain stable and perform according to the requirements set by the National Bureau for Revenue.
Scope of Tax System Support
Bahrain Integrated Tax Systems (BITS) form the central focus of this maintenance and support agreement. These platforms manage Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise, and Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (DMTT) for the National Bureau for Revenue. The contract ensures that Invenio provides ongoing technical oversight for these core revenue collection tools. The scope of the agreement covers full maintenance and support services for the BITS platform, which is critical to the daily functioning of the bureau. By managing these specific tax types, the BITS platform serves as the digital backbone for the National Bureau for Revenue’s regulatory and collection activities.
Invenio, a global SAP consultancy founded in 2006, maintains a workforce of over 800 SAP experts worldwide to facilitate these services. The firm leverages its global talent pool to ensure that the technical requirements of the National Bureau for Revenue are met with specialized SAP knowledge. The partnership between the firm and the National Bureau for Revenue originated in 2018. Since that time, the two organizations have collaborated on the implementation and maintenance of digital tax infrastructure in Bahrain. This foundational work established the operational framework that has now been extended through the new five-year agreement.
Matt Riches, CEO at Invenio, stated: "Our partnership with Bahrain’s National Bureau for Revenue has grown significantly since 2018, and this five-year agreement reflects the trust built through years of collaboration. Supporting critical national tax systems requires more than technical expertise. It demands a deep understanding of tax administration, operational continuity and the ability to adapt as regulatory requirements evolve. We look forward to continuing our partnership with NBR and supporting the long-term reliability and evolution of Bahrain's digital tax infrastructure."
The commitment by Invenio to provide ongoing support for BITS shows the importance of the digital infrastructure to the National Bureau for Revenue. As the bureau continues to manage VAT, Excise, and DMTT, the technical support provided by Invenio’s team of 800 SAP experts will remain a central component of the administrative process. The transition into this five-year phase of the partnership represents a continued reliance on the expertise that has been cultivated since the initial collaboration began in 2018. Through this agreement, the National Bureau for Revenue secures the necessary technical resources to maintain its tax systems effectively.
