Bahrain Tests New AI-Powered Education Platform

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, conducted a trial of the smart learning platform B~SERA on 20 October 2026. This platform serves as the first practical application of artificial intelligence within the formal education system of Bahrain. The implementation marks a shift in the digital infrastructure of schools across the country. Officials introduced the software to integrate automated learning tools into the existing curriculum. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma oversaw the evaluation to determine the technical functionality of the system during the initial testing phase. All educational institutions under the ministry are expected to monitor the results of this launch as the government evaluates the broader integration of the technology into the classroom environment.

The B~SERA platform is the first practical application of AI in the formal education system of Bahrain. By introducing this technology, the Ministry of Education aims to modernize how students engage with their daily coursework. The system functions as a centralized hub for digital resources, ensuring that students have access to advanced technological support during their academic tenure.

Student Learning and Assessment Features

B~SERA incorporates a learning management service designed to assist students with their academic requirements. This system utilizes artificial intelligence to provide support in studying lessons, preparing individualized study plans, and accessing automated summaries of educational content. Students can use these features to organize their academic materials and track their progress through the curriculum. The platform includes a learning management service that uses AI to help students study lessons, prepare study plans, and access summaries. These capabilities are intended to streamline the way students interact with complex information, allowing for a more personalized approach to their studies.

An integrated AI assistant functions within the platform to foster self-assessment skills among learners. This tool provides interactive tests that evaluate student comprehension of specific topics. Following these evaluations, the assistant delivers immediate feedback to help students identify areas for improvement. These diagnostic capabilities aim to support independent study habits by offering real-time analysis of student performance. The platform provides an AI assistant to help students develop self-assessment skills through interactive tests and feedback. By utilizing this assistant, students can pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses in various subjects, fostering a more proactive approach to their personal learning goals.

Teachers receive a separate set of digital tools to manage their classroom responsibilities. The platform enables educators to prepare lesson plans and develop diverse teaching methods tailored to the needs of their students. Additionally, the system provides communication channels for teachers to interact with both students and parents. These tools facilitate the exchange of information regarding academic progress and classroom activities. The platform includes tools for teachers to prepare lessons, develop teaching methods, and communicate with students and parents. All functions within the platform operate under the oversight of the Ministry of Education as the government evaluates the utility of these features for the broader school system in Bahrain. Through these integrated systems, the Ministry of Education continues to assess how artificial intelligence can best serve the diverse needs of the national student population.
