Bahrain Hosts Inaugural Doggy Halloween Walkathon

The first Doggy Halloween Walkathon took place on Friday, 16 October. Organizers held the inaugural event at the Chris Wolf Training Facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain. Participants and their dogs gathered at the site to mark the occasion with a walk. This event marked the first time the facility hosted such a gathering for the local dog-owning community. The location in Al Jasra provided the necessary space for both the registration process and the subsequent exercise route.

Event Schedule and Activities

Registration for the walkathon opened at 4.30pm at the Chris Wolf Training Facility. Organizers arranged the event to begin shortly after the arrival of participants, with the official start time scheduled for 5pm. Attendees and their dogs followed a 2.5-kilometre guided walk through the grounds in Al Jasra. The route allowed the group to complete the course as part of the scheduled activities for the afternoon. By following the designated path, participants were able to navigate the facility grounds systematically. The guided nature of the walk ensured that all attendees remained on the set course throughout the duration of the 2.5-kilometre activity. The timing of the event, beginning with registration at 4.30pm and moving to the start time of 5pm, allowed for a structured flow of participants into the facility.

Community Participation and Organizers

Approximately 40 to 50 dogs participated in the inaugural walkathon held at the facility. These animals and their owners formed the primary group for the afternoon activities. The presence of these 40 to 50 dogs created a communal atmosphere at the Chris Wolf Training Facility. Each dog and owner pair moved through the course together, contributing to the overall attendance figures recorded by the organizers.

Bubbles & Miche, Chris Wolf, Project Rifq, and Charis Vets organized the event in collaboration. Carolina from Bubbles & Miche stated, "The idea was to give participants the chance to enjoy a walk, take part in games and celebrate together in a welcoming environment." The collective effort of these four organizations provided the structure for the afternoon session. Attendees engaged with the various activities facilitated by the groups throughout the grounds in Al Jasra.

The collaboration between Bubbles & Miche, Chris Wolf, Project Rifq, and Charis Vets was essential to the coordination of the afternoon. Each organization contributed to the logistics required to host the walkathon at the Chris Wolf Training Facility. By pooling their resources, these groups managed the registration process starting at 4.30pm and the official start time at 5pm. The involvement of Project Rifq and Charis Vets, alongside the hosting facility and Bubbles & Miche, allowed for a range of interactions for the 40 to 50 dogs and their owners. The event concluded after the group finished the course and the planned interactions. The successful completion of the 2.5-kilometre guided walk signaled the end of the scheduled program for the day.
