Bahrain Bourse signed a service agreement with AMAN on 13 October 2026 to strengthen financial crime defenses. Officials finalized the deal on the sidelines of the Fintech Forward 2026 forum held in Manama. This partnership focuses on enhancing regulatory compliance and security protocols within the exchange. Bahrain Bourse representatives and AMAN leadership concluded the signing ceremony during the event, which brings together regional and international industry participants. The agreement marks a formal collaboration between the two entities to monitor and mitigate financial risks. Both parties intend for the service framework to support the integrity of market operations.

Enhancing Compliance and Risk Management

Bahrain Bourse has functioned as a self-regulated multi-asset marketplace operator since 1987. The exchange’s agreement with AMAN provides support for compliance, due diligence, sanctions screening, and financial crime risk management activities. AMAN utilizes a platform powered by the financial crime management firm Themis to deliver these capabilities.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, stated: "We are pleased to partner with Aman as part of our ongoing efforts to support Bahrain Bourse’s compliance and risk management framework. This agreement marks an important step to enhance due diligence, regulatory oversight, and financial crime risk management through the adoption of advanced technologies and solutions, enabling us to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and effectively manage emerging risks in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. It also reinforces our commitment to fostering a resilient, trusted, and well-regulated capital market that supports investor confidence and contributes to the continued development of Bahrain’s financial services sector."

Dickon Johnstone, Group CEO of AMAN, added: "We are proud to support Bahrain Bourse in its mission to uphold the highest compliance standards. Our platform, powered by Themis, will provide BHB with the advanced tools needed to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape and effectively mitigate financial crime risks."

Katie Ramsey, Head of the Global Venture Capital Unit (VCU), Office for Investment, His Majesty’s Government, commented on the international cooperation involved in the deal: "The UK and Bahrain share a longstanding partnership across financial services, investment and innovation, and this agreement between Bahrain Bourse and AMAN is a clear example of what that partnership can deliver. It is fantastic to see a UK-founded innovator such as AMAN, powered by Themis, using AI responsibly to strengthen financial crime controls at the heart of Bahrain’s capital market. Robust compliance underpins investor confidence, and collaborations like this build the trust, integrity and transparency that create real opportunity for businesses and investors in both our countries."
